Diagnostic hysteroscopy
What is it?
Hysteroscopy is an endoscopic procedure making it possible to assess the morphology and any medical condition of the cervical canal and uterine cavity.
Useful information
Before undergoing the procedure, patients must have a vaginal smear test for chlamydia, gonococcus infection and mycoplasma, pre-anaesthesia tests and an electrocardiogram.
Diagnostic hysteroscopy is one of the preliminary tests and procedures needed to access medically-assisted procreation programmes.
