The MAR test is used to identify any anti-sperm antibodies and makes it possible to determine the percentage of agglutinated sperm. A diagnosis of immunological infertility is formulated when at least 40% of mobile sperm are agglutinated.
The presence of anti-sperm antibodies that react as sperm antigens is considered a confirmation of the cause of infertility.
The most important classes of anti-sperm antibodies are IgG and IgA.
