Sperm processing
What is it?
This technique allows the chemical, physical and morphological analysis of the seminal fluid, in order to choose the most appropriate technique of nemaspermal separation to be used during any insemination cycles.
It generally involves two main techniques: SWIM-UP, which allows sperm separation according to their motility; and PURE SPERM, which permits the separation of spermatozoa according to their density.
Useful information
The purpose of the test is to identify the most appropriate separation technique for any subsequent cycles of insemination and it is only performed after a meeting with the Centre’s supervising doctors.
In the interests of patient convenience, it is possible, on the same day, to make an appointment with the Laboratory, which will inform the patient of the conditions regarding days of abstinence and use of medicines.
How to make an appointment
Call your preferred centre for an appointment.
